The instructor at the Northwood Institute of Taxidermy, Joel Zimmerman, is one of the top rated taxidermy instructors in the nation. Joel is a master taxidermist who has won numerous awards at both state and national competitions. He is a well respected authority on taxidermy worldwide. Some of his taxidermy art has been featured on the cover of the magazine Taxidermy Today. Joel provided Shane with the knowledge and experience of becoming a professional taxidermist as well as how to professionally operate a taxidermy business. Shane is a graduate of Northwood Institute of Taxidermy and has become proficient in preserving, tanning and mounting fish, birds and mammals. Shane takes exceptional pride in his ability to develop custom habitats that can be included with the mounts to showcase the mounts in their natural habitats.
